Album Notes
AGAPE (ah-gah-pay): Unconditional Love (Gr.)

30 years ago, the face of hunger we recognized was of african children with bloated bellies and flies everywhere. While this certainly occurs, it is not an accurate picture of the face of hunger. Today, we know that emergency famine situations only account for 8% of the world's hunger.

Chronic hunger, a silent, day-to-day condition, is much more complex a puzzle to solve than providing temporary relief through hand-outs: it requires a commitment to end the subjugation of women, empowerment of the people, creation of a vision of this future without hunger, access to health and education, access to medical care and most importantly-- a strategic method that allows people to end their own hunger. The Hunger Project's methodology stems from one simple goal: TO UNLEASH THE HUMAN SPIRIT, and empower men and women to end their own hunger.

In villages where The Hunger Project makes possible the construction of an epicenter, the men, women and children who live there are forever changed.

We celebrate the great spirit of our sisters and brothers around the world-- we stand by their side as they work to keep their girl children in school, to give women voices in leadership roles and government, and to change their villages with new access to credit, health and education. We stand as partners in the SUSTAINABLE end of hunger in our homes across the globe.

Your purchase of this CD is an investment into the sustainable end of hunger.

Of course, we encourage you to look closer at The Hunger Project and see for yourself the strategic methodology which is working in hundreds of villages and towns-- so that you know you are making a real investment, not a hand-out. Link up to us, and let others know about this CD. Every penny goes directly to the Hunger Project. It is a Powerful investment, as each penny is used to its highest possible leverage in the work to create a world without hunger.
