ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Durango is a very small town. But it has an old train, a river, a ski resort and some really fun people who dress terribly and love to laugh at the smallest thing. That's why Comedy Showcase Durango was founded in 2016. With less than 20,000 residents, Durango may not have been traditionally conducive to a comedy scene, but given the outrageous nature of the area and the residents' love of laughter, comedy shows began to pop up all over town. Soon, stand-up comedy had joined live music, dining and historic train rides as the newest amenity to downtown. Open mics led to showcases and showcases led to festivals. Durango has now hosted comics like Josh Blue, Sean Patton and Bobcat Goldthwait. Its a tiny hidden gem tucked away in the great Southwest of the Centennial State, with large crowds, short lists and plenty of talent.

In the Springtime of 2019, eight comics from Durango and beyond teamed up to record the first ever comedy album to be released by Comedy Showcase Durango. 'Durango Is Funny' will be the first volume in what will hopefully become an annual showcase of the comedic talent residing in the Four Corners region of America.

Volume 1 was hosted by David Oakley, with feature spots from Jill Carlson, Joshua Fournier, Dallas Gwynn, Wes Stein, Kate McLachlan, Allie Wolfe and Elliot Weber.
