About the artist
Vassilis Papdopoulos
..returning to his true passion... Jazz
Vassilis was born in central Greece. He started music relatively early on in his life. By the age of 10 he was playing the trumpet, and at 19 he won a scholarship-competition to study in England. Later on he pursued his studies in Germany, taking up percussions as well.
He was employed full time as a percussion-player in opera-houses and leading symphony-orchestras while travelling extensively in Europe, Japan,
USA, South-America and China.
Lectureship in an academy of music in Germany.
From very early on in his life, Vassilis was intensively involved in Jazz.
Now, after a long and succesful career in classical music, he has returned to his old love.......JAZZ!
