Bluesin' in the Big Easy

by Vee Allen

This is an excellent jam session with Vee Allen's smooth vocals accompanied by the fabulous Dr. John and the Lower 911 Band performing New Orleans Blues/Jazz/R&B music. Great follow-up to Vee's last CD "Woman Enough".

Album Notes
This CD was recorded with the Lower 911 Band and the Good Doctor before they parted ways! Background by Theresa Davis, coaching by Tom Tom '84 and others make it a fun, spirited performance by high quality artists. This may be one of the best blues collaborations of the year!

Five Stars
This CD is a must have for your Jazz and/or Blues collection! You can feel the emotion in every note as you listen to one of the most beautiful voices ever. I love every song on the CD, but my favorite is "Sunday Kind of Love". "Source of Comfort" is so entertaining!

Beautiful Voice, Soulful Settings
This set's a true treat for soul, blues, and jazz fans. Vee Allen's beautiful voice is rightfully up front, but the details of the musicians' cool accompaniment are so clear, you can imagine yourself at a great table in a small club setting listening to this ace outfit. The first two cuts would make great sides of a 45. Plenty to recommend for everyone, but Daptone fans in particular should check this out!
