Best Xmas CD ever!
I first bought this album as a cassette over 10 years ago. I have loved it ever since and there are some songs that I can no longer sing the "traditional" lyrics: the Venus Envy versions are the only ones I know!! ;-) I have played it for many friends and they love it!

I was very excited to find the CD this year - now my poor, worn-out, much loved cassette can be retired to a place of honor.

Thank you Venus Envy and CD Baby for making 2007 a very wonderful Christmas!

Hillarious, and a bit bawdy
I laughed all the way through. I'm not a lesbian, but my mom is, and I got the jokes. My boyfriend didn't. Oh well. I guess that means that the CD is great for someone who's into bawdy lesbian humor, and not so much for someone who isn't. I got this CD for myself as a reward for good behavior, and it was totally worth it.

I love this CD
i like this cd because it gives gays a chance in the music world and leaves a mark on christmas songs that gays can enjoy. me and my boyfriend GAYMAN love this cd

A little butch but who's complaining?
I am a Yulehead and collect all types of Christmas music so I'm always on the lookout for something different. This CD delivers on all counts. There is nothing more offensive here than might be found on a Zappa recording. I found the comedy and general 'gaity' of the songs refreshing. Sure, I won't be putting this on Aunt Concetta's annual Christmas comp but I have several friends (gay & straight) that are really going to enjoy this material. My only complaint is that the CD could have been longer. Maybe a follow-up is in the works? This one ranks up there with Pansy Division's 'Have a Homo Xmas this year" .

I'll Be A Homo for Christmas
I am one of the two Lindas on this wonderful CD. We wrote these songs in the middle of a hot summer in Seattle --- "The assignment, should you accept, is to rewrite two traditional Xmas songs." --- The writing, rehearsing and performing at The Venus Envy Annual Xmas Show in Seattle (3 years?) was hilarious. What a joy and an honor to work with these silly, clever and tremendously musical women !
Thank you all for your great feedback! That is the continuing joy of having made this CD!

Freedom of speech... HELLO?!
Regarding the below review, I've been familiar with CD Baby since its inception and I can tell you this: CD Baby does not take sides politically or religiously.. so to not carry a CD based on its political or religious stance would be a form of censorship and making judgements on what's right/wrong. CD Baby is just a record store offering services to EVERY ONE. If you can't be okay with people expressing views other than your own, you might have gotten off 200 years late in the time machine. Your comments above are exactly why Christians have such a bad rep. Freedom of speech applies to music as much as anything else.

I agree...
yeah, i just want to say in defemse of these artists that xmas songs aren't really even "christian" anymore.. they are commercialized songs for shopping malls, not sacred so they are not any more religously offensive then any other pop song
