Album Notes
One night, I was sitting in my best friend’s living-room laughing and losing track of time.
She pointed at the clock, “11:11 make a wish.” as she scrunched her sun kissed nose and closed her eyes. My heart sank. My throat tightened. I let her finish her sentence while the urge to cry passed. Then, I told her something I’ve never told anyone before...

When I was 15, I got this composition book from the welfare office. It was in a backpack full of school supplies donated to me.
I opened it up to the first crisp page and drew out what I wanted my future album cover to be. I was a big dreamer back then, always imagining ways I could escape the life was stuck in. When I was teased for having my nose buried books, I decided it’s time I find a “cooler” hobby. Mid-teen crisis, I quit dreaming that I could catch the next train to Hogwarts and asked for a guitar! Nobody makes fun of rockstars right?

So anyway, my big secret:

The only real dream I ever had was to make my own CD. Since I was a kid, every single time I had the opportunity to wish for something, Every 11:11, every birthday, every penny tossed into a well, I wished that one day I could release my own album. And that night, I realized that my wish is finally, after 14 years, coming true.

I was poor growing up, so what? Wah wah poor me? No..... not at all my point. I’ve got one word for you, HOPE. When you have nothing, all you can do is hope that one day, things will change for you. Hope that the struggle will someday end. Hope that if you teach yourself ONE song, you’ll make your mom proud, because you know she scraped up change to get you that guitar.

I’ve crawled from the depths of what I know to be hell on earth to get to where I sit today. All because of Hope.
It is an honor in light of all of the support I’ve had through the years, and a true tribute to every child who has a dream of a better tomorrow, to present my very first, very own Album titled Heartstrings; a representation of my experiences and how they each have tugged on my own heartstrings, forming me into who I am today, shaping my world, creating this crazy beautiful life we live. I really hope you enjoy it. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for listening.
