Album Notes
Acoustic Guitar/Bass/Vocals: Victoria Vox
Drum Loops: Jon Tyler / Rick Starr

"Victoria Vox is one of those singer/songwriters who's virtually immune to negative criticism (I... simply... can not... say... anything... scathing... damnit!). Victoria is one of the purest musicians touring the country today... she performs beautiful acoustic pop songs and inspires even the most skeptical, cynical, jaded ears to view the world in a romantic, positive light."
- Matt Stroud, The Pulse, Pittsburgh Trib (2/1/05)

"As the band sets up to perform at Gunther Murphy's, "Wish You Were Here" by Incubus comes on through the stereo speakers in the room. As Victoria tunes her acoustic guitar, she takes notice of the song playing, and, within two chord changes, she jumps right into the song. In the low lighting, a smile appears on her face as she follows the song, as to show pride in her ear for music of all kinds.... A small moment like that says so much about the simple joy of music." - Chris Castaneda, Love, Chicago

Victoria Vox breathes music and knows it. She may not have had much of an audience as a 10-year old growing up in small-town, Wisconsin, but that didn't stop her from writing her first "dance hits" on a Casio keyboard in her bedroom. Even then, Vox was aware of song structure and chord progression -- 11 years before actually receiving a degree in songwriting from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.

At just 17, Vox taught herself to play the guitar while acting the role of foreign exchange student in rural France. "I bought the cheapest one in the store," she chimes! A new instrument and inspirational surroundings turned her away from her keyboard top-40 musings, and encouraged a more therapeutic songwriting method.

In 1997, Vox chose to continue her higher education at Berklee; a degree in songwriting was right up her alley! Her hard work paid off upon graduation when she was awarded a Berklee Achievement Scholarship and the Vince Gill Songwriting Award. After a brief post-college stint in Nashville, the songwriting capital of the world, Vox sold everything she owned to write and record in London. 2002 saw the release of her debut acoustic album, Still, which was mostly written and recorded in London, including a track done at the famous Air Studios. Since then, Vox has been touring across the US and London sharing her songs and her infectious smile. She became a full-time touring artist in May 2003 and performs more than 120 shows a year. She's opened for national touring acts Ida, The Figgs, and Neko Case and Jackson Browne. Vox has also self-released 4 full-length albums, 1 EP and has appeared on 4 compilations. She's a DIY queen and the sky is the limit.

Great songs from a vreat voice...
Although just a mini-album this CD's packed with GOODIES. Victoria has a great voice and an astounding ability as a song-writer. More produced and arranged than her previous CD but the songs on (in between) don't lose any of the life of her other output. There is subtle looping and programming going on but never at the expense of feel and emotion. The arrangements enhance EVERY track. I'd like to pick a standout track but it's pointless since I'd just end up listing all six - although Be Mine and Stuck in the Moment are current favourites. Excellent album, worth every penny, can't wait to hear Victoria's next full length CD

Honestly... I heard you play live in Princeton today.I was trying to find your music online as soon as I got to a computer. I can't wait to go get your cd, it's amazing. Your voice is absolutely heavenly. You gave me goosebumps when I heard you sing. Keep pursuing this career, cause you really have talent.

I really like this music. I never knew we would have someone famous come out of my class. I was honored to have her singing at my graduation as it was her high school graduation as well. Congratulations Victoria!! I can't wait to see you at Lazy Gecko's in De Pere!

I have never heard a better voice. Awesome lyrics, seemed to come straight from the heart!!!!

Beautiful vocals and flow
This music penetrates the soul.

Really Impressive!
I'm a bassist with almost 30 years experience. I had the pleasure of hearing Victoria sing at "the bitter end" in Nyc. I have had the ops to perform with many great singers over the years, and I'm not easily impressed, but Victoria totally blew me away with every aspect of her singing and composing. I highly appreciate her talent. Check her out!!!!

What Incredible Talent!
My family and I saw Victoria @ Border's Books and Music on 25 June 2005, and what a performance! Her voice was flawless, as she sang tracks from this CD. The best cut on this disc is "Stuck in the Moment." This CD (and the others) needs to get some heavy airplay. Kudos Victoria!

Magnificient voice coupled with delightful uke playing.
Magnificient voice and talent. Have all of her CD's, but my favorite is Victoria Vox and Her Jumping Flea" uke production. Saw her in July at the Purpole Violen in WVA not far from Blackwater Falls State Park. Missed her at Baltimore Pig Festival, but look forward to seeing her Thursday nite (914/06) in Frederick, MD -- day after tomorrow.

I met and saw Victoria play tonight for FREE at Nubby's bar in De Pere, WI, at open mic night. Not only is that the coolest thing a professional musician can do, but she rocked the house. "In Between" is an awesome album (which we got from Victoria at the bar), I'd recommend it to anybody who enjoys exceptional music from an original artist. I'm looking forward to seeing her perform @ Brewbakers Pub in Green Bay on March 24 and 25th!

Beautiful, well crafted songs sung by pop-rock angel Victoria Vox...
I've had the pleasure to see Victoria Vox perform live in the past and she is an incredibly talented and passionate singer, songwriter, performer and artist. Her new ep "in between" is beautiful, melodic and sinfully catchy. The overall production is lush and lovely and her voice sounds amazing as always. My only complaint is that I now have to wait for the full length cd to come out! But I know it will be worth waiting for!
