SPECIAL THANKS FROM LAURA
First of all, I of course extend a huge thanks to Tommy Tallarico for producing this album as part of the Video Games Live: Level 4 Kickstarter campaign. Ever since the first time he first invited me to perform with VGL back in 2009, he has continued to provide me with the most incredible opportunities a young composer/performer could ever dream of, and this album is only the latest in a long list of career milestones that came directly from Tommy's influence. I simply would not be who I am without his support.

Next, enormous thanks to the star of this album, Brendon Shapiro. Brendon is an accomplished musical director and accompanist, and has been a dear friend of mine ever since we first met as undergrads at Ithaca College. He was not simply a pianist for my lessons and recitals; he was my teammate, collaborator and constant musical companion throughout my formative years, and taught me not only the importance of teamwork, but also the meaning of friendship. Brendon has built up an exceptional career as a collaborative pianist for musicals, operas, choral groups and recitals—but it is my sincere joy to feature him on this album as the talented, dedicated, and passionate concert soloist he truly is.

Third, a special thanks to linguist Walter Tsuyoshi Sano for his aid in the Japanese diction of “Radical Dreamers.” His enthusiasm and knowledge were inspiring, and he sent me copious notes on the literal translation of the words and their romanization, as well as listened to and corrected my pronunciation to make it sound as natural as possible.

Last but certainly not least, deepest thanks to Yasunori Mitsuda for composing all of the themes featured on this album. I hope that I have been able to draw out the passion and beauty of his compositions through my arrangements, and to achieve even a tiny measure of the emotion that touched the countless gamers who experienced his music in its original context: the world of Crono, Serge, and their friends across time and space.
