ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Vince Mtz. has moved from coast to coast, living in Boston, Seattle, and San Francisco, slowly maturing his style as a folk-inspired singer songwriter. After a year back home in Santa Fe, NM in 2006, Vince ended up in San Francisco where he met up with violinist Carla Brauer and the two spent a year writing music, playing the local San Francisco scene and eventually recording an album.

The nine-song album, Vince Mtz. & the Great Blue Yonder, uses the medium of poetic storytelling to explore and reflect on opposing forces in daily life. In two particular songs from the album, “Cleo” and “All I Need”, Vince wrestles with wanting to escape one’s home versus the persistent longing to return. While song inspiration comes from many different aspects in Vince’s life, ranging from a baby shower to the depression of a best friend, at the heart of the entire album is a homecoming to the New Mexico sky.
