Album Notes
Editorial Reviews of "A LITTLE TRIP"

Beatles Unlimited Magazine
"This, by all means, is the real thing. The Beatles have split; long live the Vinyl Kings!" (Mees van Ditzhuyzen)

"A absolutely, postively, freakish channeling of the original spirit of the Fab Four amplified to 11. A masterwork of melodious metamorphosis." (Heidi Drockelman)

BBC Radio Merseyside, Liverpool, UK
"Some of these songs could have been hits for the Beatles" (Spence Leigh, DJ)

Way FM, Austraillia
"The Vinyl Kings sound is erie, reminiscent, thoughtful, fresh and just plain great!" (Mark O'Neill, DJ)

The Great Take-Over Magazine
"Like all great, user friendly albums, A Little Trip falls naturally into your ears with no fuss, no muss, just good old fashioned songcraft performed by musicians who clearly love what they're doing." (Brad Harvey)

"What's great about this album is that with every new listen, you discover some new, tiny little detail, that skipped your attention before, making it a never-ending "little trip" through the Beatles' legacy ... and beyond. Take this "little trip" for a GREAT BIG pleasure. (Goran Obradovic/ POPISM)

The members of the Vinyl Kings have individually produced, written songs for, played on recordings by, or toured with such artists as Sting, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Neil Young, Shawn Colvin, Shania Twain, Paul Brandt, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Winwood, Dan Fogelberg, Glenn Frey, J.D. Souther, Kim Carnes, Peter Frampton, Bobby Womack, Steve Earle, Bob Seger, Vince Gill, John Fogerty, Mark Knopfler, Faith Hill, Tina Turner, Martina McBride, James Ingram, Leann Rimes, Michael McDonald, Trisha Yearwood, Rosanne Cash, Wynonna Judd, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steppenwolf, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Kathy Mattea, Lyle Lovett and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

In early 2001 the Vinyl Kings decided to try some thing new: To record a CD of their original songs that would draw upon one of their greatest influences, The Beatles.

One could say that their CD "A Little Trip" is a concept record.

But the band would say that it is more of a homage to not only the Beatles, but to a time in musicial history that changed their lives forever.

These guys have the Beatles sound down so well it's scary.
Fantastic album! The Vinyl Kings have certainly succeeded in capturing the spirit and sound of the Beatles (with a little bit of Beach Boys and ELO thrown in on a track or two for good measure). They also seem to add a bit of themselves into the mix, with some whimsical lyrics (listen to "Chocolate Cake"), as well as some poignant ones ("Mother Dear"). The music, and in many places, the singing, is so reminiscent of the Beatles that it's almost like hearing a new Beatles album. I hope that John, George, Paul, Ringo, and George Martin would be proud. Long live Beatlemania!

Worth the listen........... Absolutely!!
I took a little trip, and it was fantastic. The music was both wonderful, and nostalgic. It's refreshing to hear real musician's making real music, especially in an era where it's possible to make a CD without any talent whatsoever.

Andi (from a band called The Barrys)

Love it !!!!
I am a musician with lots of Beatles influence. I learned of this CD from our own page - The Barrys - The Vinyl Kings were listed on our page as a band our fans should check out and I can see why. Having similar Beatles influence it was sort of a no brainer that I would like this band so I went to their site and listened and immediately bought.....can't wait until mine arrives !!!!

I am impressed
I am truly impressed-this CD in every regard possible is true to the spirt of The Beatles. I encourage everyone I know to purchase this album. Who says good music is no longer being made?

Great album with good songs and fantastic vocal harmonies.
This is one of the best Beatles pop albums i've ever heard. The songs are well written and the vocal harmonies are absolutely fantastic. The Vinyl Kings have taken the task of making a new Beatles album very seriously. It really shows that these talented guys love the Beatles and their music. A little Trip is a must for everyone who likes the Beatles and similar music.

The Lost Beatle Album?
Vinyl Kings do the Rutles one better by investing their Beatlemania with authenticity. Infectuous pop and startling vocal harmonies. This should be on the radio!!

Mick Wilson

I can't stop playing A Little Trip. It's in my car and ipod.
Song after song you will swear these song were written by the Beatles, played by the Beatles, sung by the Beatles. Bang Bang is one of my favorites. I can't stop playing it. It's in my car, house and ipod. I'm in for their next CD.

Paul John Ahlefeld

THE best tribute album to the Beatles
An absolute must have album in anyone's collection, especially if your a Beatles fan.

Nothing short of amazing, finally some new classic rock
This is truly an amazing set. This collection sounds like a missing Beatles album from somewhere between Rubber Soul and the White Album. A band with this pedigree can more or less do anything they want - and fortunately for all of us they've chosen this style of music. I've never written a review before for anybody, anywhere and have been a music fan all of my 45+ years. Do yourself a favor and pick this gem up.

joe bzdell

first music that made me smile in years
you can tell this music was thought out in great detail,, it seems like real music, this stuff seems like it could have been stuff the beatles left on the cutting room floor or just forgot to include in their stuff ... thanks to all for doing this and thanks to gloria (bryom's) sister for telling me about it..
