Album Notes
In early 2009 Mike Henry and Mike de Martino began recording what was to be a simple acoustic album comprised of a hand picked few of Mike Henry's songs which were written over a period of several years. Most notably, a song entitled "If That is Faith" written for the movie "Henry Poole is Here" which ultimately was not in the movie, but blossomed very quickly from one acoustic guitar track and one vocal to multiple tracks including drums, piano, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, and backing vocals. 9 more songs were recorded including "Seaside Town", which is a stream-of-consciousness song created entirely from scratch in one long 10 minute take. No preparation was made for the recording and no lyrics had been previously written. Much of the album was created this way with little or no prior preparation. After a few weeks of recording out of Mike de Martino's home in Ventura, California, it became obvious to the pair that they were creating something special. The new album is the first installment of this acousti-tronic duo. Expect great things.
