Album Notes
All profits from Sailing Free will support Sarab Shada of the Iraqi Student Project as she finishes her education degree stepping forward into her future with our embrace, sailing free. Voices has been honored and enriched by her voice and her spirit, as well as inspired by her journey; Sarab is part of this recording.

"Five years ago, I packed my bags and took a bus from Baghdad to Syria where I applied for a scholarship. Little did I know how much life would change. The Iraqi Student project has provided scholarships to over 40 students in 35 US colleges and Universities including my education at Loyola University. I am the lucky one, surrounded by all the beautiful humans who took part in supporting me thru the production of this CD. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Salam." Sarab Shada

For over 30 years, 8 recordings and a breath of generations, Voices has been a mainstay in the Chicago political-folk scene, dedicating their music to seeking social justice through a multicultural message of peace.
