Started in 2005 by clarinetist and composer Todd Brunel, the Vortex Series has been presenting engaging concerts that feature modern music by composers and improvisers. In 2010 and 2011, Todd Brunel and the Vortex series was the recipient of 2 Massachusetts Cultural Council grants by the city of Cambridge and the city of Somerville. Every work on this cd is an original and spontaneous modern music creation and a testament to the many incredible artists who shared their time and talent with the series.
