Album Notes
Born and raised in Rockville, MD, I moved to NYC in 1981 to pursue a career
in hair and the performing arts. I’ve been a licensed hairstylist since 1979, and a salon owner since 1990.

I started studying piano in 3rd grade and flute in 7th grade, baritone sax
and voice in 9th grade. I've only been composing music and lyrics since early 2004.

My first job in NYC in was in the World Trade Center on the Concourse level.
I watched the construction of the World Financial Center, #7 World Trade Center (the first time), and the residential neighborhood, Battery Park City.
I opened The Vince Smith Hair Experience 3 blocks away from the WTC, in BPC. Who could’ve imagined then that I would be only a “Knight’s move” away from the worst terrorist attack in America’s history?

In order to survive that trauma, we all banded together '" co-workers, friends, neighbors and total strangers - and supported and helped one another. We showed each other that inside most of us is a noble, strong, caring and generous person striving for peace and harmony. Now I appreciate, even more than before, how precious each moment really is, how important it is to treat each other with kindness, respect and love, and how important it is to express our feelings and live out our dreams.

I’d like to dedicate this CD:
To all the friends I lost on September 11th, 2001. I’ll never forget you.
To all those who lost their lives that day and their friends and families.
To my Mother, who passed away this spring, and to my family.

Special thanks:
To the staff of the Vince Smith Hair Experience (my adopted family), without
whose support, I never would’ve survived in business.
To David Manzano, Alfredo Olarte, Mark Duer, Ory Brown, David Enlow
To all my angels and heroes.
And to God for His guidance and all His gifts.

All proceeds from the sale of this CD will be donated to “Downtown Small
Business Relief”, a fund that’s I’ve created to help Downtown small businesses continue to recover. There is still so much to be done.
