Album Notes
I was born in the 70's, grew up in the 80's, did drugs in the 90's (just enough to say I did them), and as far as the NEW MILLENNIUM, I'll have to get back to you.

Now on to my "Jewel-like" back-story. I grew up in the south, had your typical, all- American, dysfunctional childhood. I went to 9 schools in 12 years and the only thing keeping me grounded and sane was - you guessed it - music. My mother bought me a "Journey" album when I was in the 4th grade and it changed my life. Right then and there, my career as a future attorney was (gratefully) over. My poor mother, how she wept at the thought of her son becoming an indigent musician!! Looking back, I guess I really liked those "Journey" songs because I took up piano immediately. I learned every "Journey" tune ever written. Soon after, at age 12, I wrote my first song. Funny thing about music at that age, if you were in the school band, you were a loser, but if you could rock out to the newest hit song on the school's piano, you were way cool!

During my next phase, METAL ruled. Ozzy, Crue, G&R, AC/DC, you know the gang. Oh the good old days. My next discovery was Depeche Mode. It was their album "Violator" that made me realize how brilliant they were. I have to give a shout out to U2 as well. They are truly unstoppable.

At the age of 20, I packed up my shit-box and drove 3000 miles out to the concrete jungle of LA LA Land. I didn't know a soul, so I lived in a motel in Van Nuys for 2 months. I finally found an apartment and didn't leave it for a year. Nevertheless, I found my way by writing tunes and trying to put together demos. Then, I discovered the brilliant Tim David Kelly (formerly of Kicking Harold, on MCA). We hit it off immediately and decided to work together. With Tim's guidance and inspiration, I realized that it was time to move beyond demos and begin working on an entire album. Things have been great ever since. So with that, I hope you enjoy....ULTRA SUEDE.
