Album Notes
Fed up with people taking selfies all the time? Sick of forests of selfie sticks despoiling beautiful places? Does anybody care about anything other than themselves nowadays? Will we all marry ourselves in the future? Jay-Z and Beyonce´ hiring the Louvre for a private view just to take selfies of themselves with the exhibits. Daddy Cool Obama, Smoothy Chops Cameron and Blondie Thorning-Schmidt inanely taking selfies at Mandela's funeral. Is nothing (except ourselves apparently) sacred anymore? Even The Queen of England (and other bits) and her brood do it! "Put it up on Facebook".
"This is me with the Monal Lisa
Here I am withthe Dalai Lama
Stretch my arm at the Taj Mahal
Me selfie me narcissistic girl
I am the world
All I care about is ME
At sacred sites
I'll take a selfie
I'm all I want, all I want to see
I'm going to marry me
This is me at Niagara Falls
Herte I am on The Berlin Wall
Angkor Wat or Uluru
A selfie I'll do
I'm my only joy - narcissistric boy
This is me at Aya Sophia
Here I am with my myopia
Extendable selfie stick it's utopia
Me selfie me
Silly boys and girls
Think they're ther world
Put it up on Facebook."
Walking Wounded are a 5-piece band from pre-Hipster Hackney - when East London's Hackney was a haven for the world's impoverished and huddled masses rather than a ghetto for fixed wheel bike riding, skinny jeans wearing, bearded tattooed hipsters drinking over-priced coffee in bijou cafe´s - playing cutting edge original material in a myriad of styles: from Punk to Arabic to Balkan, Celtic to Reggae, Ska to Rock (and more), featuring accordion, harmonica, guitar, bass, percussion and vocals.
Don't be fooled, despite the eclecticism they retain a distinctive sound that makes them instantly recognisable and they rock with an energy many a completely electric band would envy.
They were one of ther winners of the Glastonbury Unsigned Bands competition.
Interationally reknowned music magazine Folk Roots described them as "Party musicians, ideal for you local rave up. This bunch are a whole world party on their own." whilst Mojo said "This band are fiecely poroud of their eclectisism which sees them glide through acoustic punk, Jazz and pop." East London music paper 'Detour' said "Walking Wounded are a band with roots, rhythm, rock and conscience...Delivered in a style similar to The Levellers, i.e. full blast, the Walking Wounded are singing honest, loud and live..."
