Album Notes
If you’ve been ready and waiting for the best, it has arrived! “The Best of Walter Beasley; The Affable Years (vol.1) is here, and ready to knock you off of your feet. The first of its kind on Walter’s innovative label, Affable Records, you will experience a taste of his-story; the man, who he is, where he’s been and where he is going.
The overall tone of the project is sure to resonate and catwalk you through some of Walter’s journey as a world renowned composer, artist and performer where positive vibes are waiting around every corner with a flow that encourages hearers to use the imagination.

Beginning with the cool, smooth essence of “Barracks Grove”, which was discernably entitled prior to the former President, Mr. Barrack Obama’s, reign and gliding through some of what Walter calls his favorites; “Lovely Day” and “Go with the Flow”, listeners can feel the heart and the groove while being lifted by the sounds of a positive wind of doctrine. From there we take the “Expressway” and ride the surge of harmonic ingenuity just before Walter’s black streams escort you to “Come on Over”. This “Best of…” collection allows listeners to simultaneously collide with Walter’s sound as well as the blood, sweat and years it took to birth Affable Records; from the soul of a man to a manifested legacy that is empowering the music industry in an extraordinary way.

Among the chosen, you will find a “top five” in the world, for Walter Beasley, “Ellies Theme”, originally gifted by Isaac Hayes, which shifts you into a sensual, atmospheric flow; fusing you straight into the rhythm of the Spanish groove “La Nina”; an antidote for those who may not know the upbringing of this dynamically, versatile gift to today’s musical genre. Along with “She Can’t Help it” and “Skip to my Lew” which was done in honor of his second family, this is not only a reminder of the roots of who and what Walter Beasley has been, but it is also indicative of where he is going; featuring “Late Night Lover” co-written with Raheem DeVaughn; an intimate, provocative expression of artistry and imagination that can be felt without even meeting face to face.

In describing the years of process, growth and the motivation behind the song entitled “Be Thankful”, also featured on the cd, Walter makes clear the reason he makes a point to sing it in every performance. He states “The Best Of Walter Beasley; the Affable Years(vol.1) means something deep every time I play it, every time I hear it; makes me feel a certain way and I want my fans to feel that connection when they hear it” says Walter. “It’s about the feeling; not only good songs, but meaningful songs because that’s what they are for me”. Speaking about the gifts he’s been entrusted with, the fans that have supported him and looking forward to the future, he says, “Is there anything else that we should do or be about than being thankful?” Truly, “The Best of Walter Beasley; the Affable Years (vol.1), will leave you breathless and anticipating the volumes to come.
