Somewhere in the United States is hidden The Silver Key....

Inspired by Kit Williams' book “Masquerade,” The Silver Key, the latest CD release from the Austin-based band The Weirdo Deluxe is a NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL Treasure Hunt
Where the new tunes and CD package provide clues to a JACKPOT at www.findthesilverkey.com

Performers include Ian McLagan (Small Faces), Dave Gregory (XTC), and a host of Austin’s Finest!

Austin,Texas (August 4, 2009) – "It's a game, but the console is your CD player,” says the CD’s producer/creator Steve McAllister (Varitone Records). “But make no mistake, it's a difficult challenge."

Somewhere in the United States is hidden The Silver Key. Inspired by Kit Williams' children's book Masquerade, The Silver Key, the latest release from The Weirdo Deluxe doubles as an armchair international treasure hunt wherein the new tunes and CD package provide clues to a Jackpot. In a unique twist, the jackpot grows for every CD sold.

The Silver Key CD is a national and indeed an international treasure hunt and an intriguing concept album where the prize grows by one dollar for every unit sold. With a prize that gets ever larger as the quantity of albums sold increases. McAllister says, “If we sell a million CD’s the prize money will be a million, one thousand dollars.” The release date is September 15. Utra-enthusiastic players can get a head start by preordering the disc now at www.findthesilverkey.com.

Performers on the project include Ian McLagan (Small Faces), Dave Gregory (XTC), and a host of Austin's finest and most talented artists.

McAllister adds, “As the music business faces numerous marketing and sales challenges, we believe no one offers a better incentive to purchase an ENTIRE album than Austin's The Weirdo Deluxe.” Headed by long-time Austinite McAllister, "The Silver Key" is the band’s 5th release.
