Album Notes
\"A warm, immediate and affecting presence.\"
-- Willamette Week (Portland, OR)

Emerging from Los Angeles\' burgeoning pop circuit, Wendie\'s band Box The Walls made a splash with their full length debut CD \"Stuff.\" Produced by Kevin Moloney (U2, Sinead O\'Connor, The Caulfields) and released on Unity Entertainment/Countdown Records, the album received national airplay and charted in both Gavin and Radio & Records. Consistently garnering five-star reviews, CMJ called it \"as striking a debut as we\'ve heard in a very long time.\" About her honest and poetic songwriting, Venice Magazine raved: \"Thank God for Wendie Colter!\"

Wendie\'s solo debut \"Payday,\" produced by Rob Laufer (Fiona Apple, Melissa Ferrick) and released on Yukon Records, was received with high acclaim by the press and public nationwide. The Los Angeles Times said: \"\'Payday\' occupies the artistic space between Aimee Mann and Alanis Morissette, fashioning catchy songs with cathartic humor.\" The OC Weekly wrote: \"A remarkable disc all around. Colter\'s amazing voice perfectly captures the startling range of emotion in her songwriting.\"

Wendie\'s music has been compared to Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello and Neil Finn. She\'s shared the stage with such luminaries as The Cranberries, The Innocence Mission, Jill Sobule and Stan Ridgway, and enjoyed a stint as backup vocalist for seminal English pop group Squeeze.

Wendie\'s original songs have been heard in feature films including, \"The Night Listener,\" \"Swimming With Sharks,\" \"Playing Mona Lisa,\" and the award-winning \"Jane White is Sick and Twisted.\" Wendie also music supervised \"Jane White,\" as well as composing and performing the opening and closing themes.
