Album Notes
We are fascinated by technology or you wouldn't be here reading this on your laptop, desktop, SmartPhone or some other device. In an exploration of this love/hate relationship with our gadgets, At the same time the need to connect directly with nature, ourselves, and one another has never been stronger. "High Tech, High Touch" is an exploration of this paradox. I decided to separate the music into two 32-minute EPs since they are quite different in instrumentation although tied together in concept. "High Tech" (tracks 9-16 on CDBaby) uses synthesizers and drum machines mixed in with occasional acoustic instruments such as hand claps, violin, pan flutes and the hang drum. "High Touch" (tracks 1-8 on CDBaby) is all acoustic piano. We definitely need both.

All compositions by Wendy Loomis except "Cassiopeia" and "Pleiades" which were written collectively by Loomis, Michele Walther (violin), and Jerry Gerber (soft synth).

Monica Williams plays pan flute on "Synchronicity"; cover photo by Ciro Hurtado; design by Nickolas Schuller; and recording by Kenny Evans, Mesa Recording.

More CDs with music composed by Wendy Loomis at http://www.cdbaby.com/copus25 and http://www.cdbaby.com/phoenixrising9. Copus is spoken word and music; Phoenix Rising is ambient piano and flute. Thank you.
