ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Songs:
Elephant in the Sea: This one mixes moody with triumphant. It’s about the helplessness that comes when a friend is so deep in a crisis that they can’t be reached.
Night Song (instrumental): Moods, keys and time signatures shift in the gathering darkness.
Out the City (explicit): Sometimes we need to get away from it all to rediscover that zest for life. Out the City dives into the chilly waters of the Pacific Northwest trading the stresses of city for the simplicity of camping in nature.
Bad Boss Enterprise: The plates are piling up, we’re understaffed, underpaid, and the boss is raking in the dough. These rhymes and sarcasm target an exploitative employer who does not get the last laugh.
What’s Next?(instrumental): Sometimes possibilities open up presenting many new directions. This song is about the excitement that accompanies that moment.
Say It: Say It is about the endless nagging voice in our heads that just won’t shut up. It is edgy, tense and anxious yet clear in its resolve to move on.
The Tooth (SSF)(instrumental): Wacky and bluesy, The Tooth (SSF) bounces along until it stumbles and needs to rediscover its sense of humor.
Hot Air Balloon(instrumental): Hot Air Balloon soars into the sky in the middle of an endless Saturday afternoon.
Borderless: This spacious waltz celebrates an inspiring female activist. At first it might seem like a love song, but the praise is directed at her charismatic leadership.
Eclipse (solo guitar): Eclipse evokes an eerie obscurity as the moon blocks out the sun. Air cools and time slows, in a moment that is neither night nor day.
