Album Notes
Wes Hamil is a songwriter, composer and author who has expanded from his Americana roots music platform into this spoken word and guided affirmation genre.

ti's a natural expansion given Wes's 23 years of experience in spiritual practice which include having Sundanced in the Shoshone-Bannock tradition. Wes has written a book entitled White Man Red Road about his journey and there is a CD available of the same name that includes 10 songs oriented to the material in the book. The book and the CD are available thorugh iTunes/iBooks, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and similar outlets for hard copy versions in addition to ebook. The iBooks version of the book includes video clips and the CD of songs along with their lyrics, already embedded.

With this new project, the Guided Journey through the 6 Affirmations, Wes has taken the 6 Affirmations of Gratitude and Trust that were written for the book of the same name by Paul Williams and Tracey Jackson, and added his own experience and insight as a spoken word journey across a soundscape of original music he also composed. He has also provided a variation of that music in a music only form that can serve as a calming background soundscape for any environment.

The title of the music only peace translates from the Cherokee as "Stone People" Music. The Stone People is one name used to describe the large stones that are heated and used in the cleansing prayer ceremonies many people know as "sweat lodges". The music invokes the powerful yet soothing energy of the stones as they contribute to the healing in the ceremony.

Please explore Wes's other releases, which range from the Native inflected White Man Red Road, to the Americana based Ballad of Billy Saigon, whose title track has appeared in the Bear Record's Compilation "Nest Stop Is Vietnam" alongside BRuce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and John Lennon. His Broken Angels all acoustic releases features the title track which was a pivotal inclusion as the climax of the Sony Picture's release "Abel's Field.

This is what Oscar and Grammy winner Paul Williams has to say about Wes's book, and you will find the same spirit reflected in the 6 affirmations guided journey:

On White Man Red Road (The Book)

This magnificent journal is a perfect blending of truths and traditions. Beautifully written, it allows the reader to experience the warmth and depth of Wes Hamil, the Man.

Travel with him and you may become aware of a distinct sensation of change in the center of your chest. It may well be the awakening of your own inner seeker. As Wes would say...'Walk In Beauty!
