ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Western Caravan featuring Thirsty Dave was formed in 1995 by guitarist Whit Smith (now with Austin-based Hot Club Of Cowtown). This 7-piece Western Swing Orchestra has been serving up classic Country, Western Swing and Honky-Tonk standards as well as their own engaging originals to New York's connoisseurs and homesick Texans ever since. The members of the band are:

Steve Alcott - bass

Thirsty Dave Hansen - vocals

Skip Krevens - pedal steel

Van Manakas - guitar

Bob Mastro - violin

Kenny Kosek - violin

Dave Sonneborn - drums & vocals

The Caravan was part of FujiRock Festival in Naeba, Japan in the summer of 2017, where they were the first country band to play the festival in 22 years and welcomed warmly, so much so that they will be returning to bring Western Swing and Honky Tonk music back to FujiRock 2018.
