Album Notes
What Is Kind is a postmodern retro music project combining the lyrics of Suzanne Gee with the music of Eric Lapp.

Their first venture was a recording of "Auntie's Municipal Court" (Nesmith-Allison) that was included in the limited edition CD compilation, "Listen To The Bands: 25 Monkees Cover Versions" released by 7a Records in 2017. The UK based label made a world-wide call for entries, and out of the hundreds received, What Is Kind's version of the classic Monkees deep cut track was one of the 25 selected.

Excited by this success, Eric and Suzanne began a song writing partnership and their original songs soon took shape in the recording studio. Much of the aesthetic was inspired by their mutual interest in 60's and 70's rock music, but also dipped into other genres such as Latin and classical. The end result is familiar, yet unique and fresh.
