Album Notes

When singing has been a part of your life since before you were born it's only natural that music would be a big part of your life once you get here. The Whitacre sisters, Alisa and Laura, the oldest and youngest of three sisters have been singing together all their lives and can sound so alike at times that it's hard to know who's singing what. That’s the incredible thing about “shared genes”
The girls first began singing in church when they were very young along with their sister, Lindsey, while listening to their mom play the piano. The trio formed Sorelle, and sang for several years together under that name before taking some time off to pursue other interests.
Their love for music never waned and in the spring of 2012 they began writing new songs for their recently released CD “She Dreams.” Recorded at Tempo Key Studios in Jupiter, Florida with veteran music producer Cooper Getschal who became "the band, the engineer, the mixer and everything else".
All of the self-composed music and lyrics portray the thoughts of strong, intelligent and loving women whose victory over sometimes less than optimal life experiences touches a common chord in all of us.
The Signature White Acres Duo sound is a fresh Melodic County blending the best of country, folk and rock music married to clever and engaging lyrics with rich harmonies. This is not cookie-cutter country but rather a blend of musical influences from The Dixie Chicks to The Rolling Stones with a bit of Miranda Lambert, Wilson Phillips and the Eagles thrown in for some seasoning.
The personalities of sisters are as different as night and day. Laura describes it as "Alisa is type A and I am type Z. She's very by the book and I'm more 'go with the flow'." One can imagine this makes for some great stories which the girls include in their live performances. Both girls list singing and music at the top of the list of their favorite things to do and it shows in every note and lyric.
The intimate nature of the White Acres “Duo” Sound draws the listener in allowing them to not only hear, but also feel, the emotion of the vocals.
The White Acres show has something for everybody with breathtaking vocals, thought provoking lyrics, funny stories, personal observations and engaging interaction with their audience. It’s a truly satisfying and rewarding evening for the entire family.

Each of the distinctly opposite personalities of the girls are revealed in the subject matter and musical tone of their material from the haunting relevance of "Not Ready for Goodbye" to the Joyful delight of "Loving You".
The listener is taken on an acoustic buffet of unexpected lyrical twists and unique memorable melodies. The honesty of "Trouble" which confesses the age old truth that some women are just attracted to bad boys and the vulnerability of "Sinner Tonight" which illustrates the struggle between what we all should do and the results of the choices we make, show how broad a spectrum of subject material the girls have been writing.
"Crowded Room" a down to earth real life experience that all of us have shared is a true story of how their parents met and the kind of song that every songwriter wishes they could create. The rich harmonic texture of "All The Way", coupled with it's truly committed lyrics, paints a beautiful picture of how deeply love can be felt and expressed.
They haven't forgotten anger either as illustrated in "Mad" -something everyone feels now and then- expressed in a way that will make some of us feel vindicated and perhaps allow others to see the error of their ways. "Hometown" is a perfect marriage of the soft "coconut inspired" sound of their South Florida Hometown of Jupiter and the heartfelt thanks for the blessings of living in paradise.
Most people, at one time or another, have felt trapped or tied up in a situation that they would rather be rid of which is what "Cut Me Loose" and "Run Baby Run" reveal to the listener through iconic lyrics and intricate harmonies.
"I Fall" is the oldest song the catalog, having been written almost 12 years before it was recorded, and is the most pop sounding of the material reminiscent of the well produced hits of the past.
The title composition "She Dreams" is a theme song for every woman who knows that there is more to life than what they are currently experiencing illustrated through simple everyday thoughts and dreams and tempered with encouragement and hope.
