ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
When you have enough prime wood, oxygen, and a big enough spark, you get fire. So it is with the joining together of Rebeca's spellbinding voice and David Randle's deeply inspired guitar playing. Each a talented songwriter on their own, something very exciting has happened in this unique collaboration. They have created a seamless blend of the best of Rock, Pop, Folk and Country elements. From the soaring electric guitar on "You Mean Everything To Me," to the delicate fingerstyle acoustic guitar on "Falling," combined with lush orchestral arrangements, they have built a stage for Rebeca's voice to dance upon.

Rebeca, through her many recordings and personal appearances, is known for her expressive and expansive vocal styles. She has a list of credits for film & television, and has received International radio airplay. Now her passion has been taken to the highest level in this latest project entitled "Fulfillment."

David, who's diverse musical background includes having owned one of San Diego's largest music stores, spent is adolescent years in a band that performed with some of rock music's cutting edge leaders like Cream, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Eric Burdon & The Animals, Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds and Steppenwolf, to name a few.

In this recording, Rebeca and David had the sheer pleasure of working with Grammy nominated engineer, Bernie Torelli, as well as the legendary electric violinist, Jerry Goodman (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Dixie Dregs). The credits don't stop there as acclaimed bassist, Dave Curtis, and stellar drummer, Roger Friend, created a driving rhythm section. Scott Gorham, a noted San Diego keyboardist, performed on several tracks as well.

Both David and Rebeca got to stretch out and use all of their significant chops on this record, as they chose to perform all the various styles that they love and do so well. David got to play everything from a jazzy fusion solo, to Claptonesque blues/rock riffs; Santana feeling solos to slide guitar that would make Bonnie Raitt smile. All the while, laying down progressive acoustic guitar grooves for the bed of most tunes as well as some fine fingerstyle accompaniments on the ballads. Rebeca got to express her bluesy, torchy side in "Sleep, Give Me The Peace," steal your very soul in her irrepressible performance on "Falling," and generally demonstrating a range of performance unheard of in most singers today.

As talented as they both are individually, this is a situation where the whole really is greater than the sum of its parts. A circumstance where individual skill, combined with other world-class musicians and artists, elevates this project to a new level of clarity and pure musical expression, introducing the formation of Whitespace.

Best CD of the year
If you're looking for something positive, sexy, and energizing this is the CD! Rebecca's sensuous and soulful vocals, and David Randle's Clapton-like guitar work, generate a spirit of hope in these tough times. The drummer is so fine, and such a relief from the metalic artificial sounds one hears on the radio. Excellent musicianship/great songs! This CD and Bonnie Raitt's are the best CD's of the year. Buy it! You'll be so glad you did.
