ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Wild Hares: an improbable marriage of roots rocking, garage popping, lo-fi alt-country figure Tracy Santa ("like R.E.M. phoned in from a telephone kiosk in the Nevada desert," Melody Maker) and former DC-based noise rock trasher, stump thumper Michael Salkind. Recorded and mixed in a dozen hours, the sound of live drums, live vocals, one Epiphone Casino guitar, and one humming Ampeg ReverbeRocket 2. Revisits several songs from Santa's 84 Rooms and solo repertoire as well as more recent tunes and Nick Drake's "Pink Moon."

reasons to love lo-fi rock
Clever turn of words, inflections in Santa's voice and melodies worth remembering kept me pushing play. Driving in the car, guitar rifts made me want to speed . Loved it.
