ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Doug Wilkinson came from the fast-paced world of advertising in Chicago. He made his mark in the industry and decided to pursue ambient music with a fresh, new approach. Doug combines traditional, acoustic instruments with computer-generated samples and surprises us with thought-provoking, soulful vocals throughout a lush, musical journey. Altogether, it sounds like a movie underscore with a gentle "groove."
Not only is Doug a skilled composer, he's also an accomplished pianist, which is evident throughout his compositions. In his own words, he comments, "Music can be like living in a big city. It is possible for several 'styles' or cultures to come together and collectively yield a whole new sound." In his latest release, "Pleasure," we can feel that crossroads or blending of several musical styles that Doug is striving to share with us. He has, indeed, hit on something profound and powerful.

A celebration of life and love.
Out of so many strong tracks, it's tough to identify the strongest. Don't miss the piano solo in The Big Picture, track 9. That's where an incredible strength of caring finds musical form in the most intimate of voices, in the most intimate of settings. Overall, this CD is a powerful sequence of concise voices, structured to document reverence for all that's magical in life and love.
