ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
William Glass was formed back in the days of bookwork, sports and chasing girls. Most of these still lie true and so does the music.
William Glass is a three piece band that started in 1994 as a way to express themselves to eachother and to the growing world around them. Many of their influences come from the early rock legends: Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Guess Who, Bob Marley and extend to such modern day groups such as: Green Day, Weezer, Phish, Dispatch and Jack Johnson.

William Glass band releases debut CD

September 13, 2007 ARLINGTON HEIGHTS POST
It's virtually all in the family for the band William Glass. It started with a dad who played in bands in his youth and let his sons and their neighborhood pal noodle around on the instruments and equipment piled in the basement, which led to a dream to make it in the music business, topped off by the boys using their paternal grandfather's two middle names for the band's moniker.
Citing a "Lennon-McCartney influence," Chris McGowan says a lot of the band's music "has sort of an underlying Beatles feel to it."
"We're very passionate about our music," Chris McGowan said. "We've all been playing together so long we've really jelled as a band."

Sometime in the Middle of Nowhere was recorded in Santa Barbara, Ca. The tracks Embody the Moment, Questions, and The Years Portrayed were recorded by Chris in the summer of 2004. Mike was absent due to a fly fishing trip in Guam and Steve's hand was still healing from the time he saved a flying squirrel from an ocean fire. Chris provided all the instrumentation on these songs, with help from fellow friends Craig Costigan, Eric Eisenberg and Rob Taylor. Luckily Steve's voice was not hurt in the accident. He provided all the lead vocals and Chris and Laura Apple provided back up vocals.
The rest of the album wasn't recorded until September of 2006. Mike, Chris and Steve were all present and in great form. This is when the magic really came alive! William Glass recorded 11 songs in just three days. Working day and night and surviving on energy drinks, breakfast bars, and beer!
It has been a long long road, but they have finally finished their all original debut album. All three minds shine individually throughout each song, but together as a whole.

William Glass offers FOUR full length versions of their songs on myspace. www.myspace.com/williamglassband

Great CD, very unique and creative music!
The music is very upbeat, but relaxing at the same time. All of the songs have great lyrics and overall there is a great story line in the songs. The songs put you in a good mood, and once you start listening, you wont be able to stop! The music is very unique and is hard to compare to any other band/group. The CD is amazing!!

NIce mix of music styles, very creative!
Reminds me of the Grateful Dead or Coldplay, kind of laid back. Some nice harmonies and tight instrumentals. I really liked this CD.

This album is very listenable, the songs are from the heart.
I generally like to be transported to some other place when I listen to music - for however brief a time. The selections on this album do it for me. Each cut is a sincere statement from the performing artists. The album is very listenable, and I think from the heart.

This CD is awesome...it tells such an amazing story throughout the whole thing..
I am so happy that I listened to this cd...I can't really compare this band to any other band specifically, but it does resemble the Fray, and somewhat Jack Johnson, and/or Ben Folds which is a huge compliment. I loved how this cd from beginning to end told a story and each song represented a different part of the person's life. The singer has an amazing voice, the music itself is awesome and full of talet, and the lyrics make it all the better. I recommend this CD to anyone and everyone. This band should become very famous because they are just as good, if not better than many other bands out there...

and oh ps...Chris is my favorite member of the band...and is by far my fav :o)
