ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Raised in the southeastern United States, Will grew up steeped in the folk music of the region. His family's roots span the breadth of the South, from tidewater Virginia and the Carolina low-country, across the mountains of West Virginia and Tennessee, down to the Mississippi River. His songs reflect that heritage, sung and played on 5-string banjo, acoustic guitar and National steel slide guitar.

"...a very strong debut release...powerful songs steeped in the traditions of the south...[Will is] a wonderful singer and musician, but even more impressive is the depth of his songwriting...a survey of the very best elements of modern, acoustic roots music. Like the finest of those who choose to explore their art within bluegrass-friendly confines, White bridges the distance between the past and the present and reveals himself as a continually developing artist." ~Donald Teplyske, Red Deer Advocate, Red Deer, Alberta, fervorcoulee.wordpress.com

"...a truly remarkable album, rich in musical styles and dense in lyrical content...a mighty piece of work." ~Geoff Morris, Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, WALL-TO-WALL BLUEGRASS, worldwidebluegrass.com

"...you have a winner on your hands. We really loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing this fine project with us." ~Al Shusterman, KCBL Radio, Backroads Bluegrass, Sacramento, California

"...a refreshingly raw sound..." ~Earle Thompson, CKMO Radio at Village900.ca, Victoria, British Columbia

"...a really strong collection of songs, some of which are destined to be jam session classics..." ~David Ward, CKUA Radio Network, Edmonton, Alberta

“…excellent lead vocalist…a Gram Parsons pained feel via White’s broken edged vocals…” ~Maverick Magazine (UK)

“Will White is a awesome song writer” ~Uncle Billy Dunbar, Country Unplugged Bluegrass Radio, worldwidebluegrass.com
