Album Notes
Kirsten Winter (vocals) and Chris Peirce (guitars) play acoustic jazz which draws not only from jazz standards but also from blues, folk and more contemporary sources - songs by artists such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Bill Withers, Janis Joplin, Mark Knopfler, Sting, Isaac Guillory.

Rich, intimate vocals and technical, moody guitar interweave, condensing what several musicians would normally be playing. One minute you will be singing along, the next you will be stopped short by an intricate guitar solo, some scat, or by the emotions of the moment. Their interpretations of great songs are both sensitive and spontaneous.

Simply put,Invent Some Memories is a brilliant cd. Kirsten has a gorgeous voice. Chris's guitar playing is outstanding. The choice of tunes, and the manner in which they are presented, makes for a wonderfully balanced musical offering.

A very classy production...
A very classy production showcasing the excellent vocals of Kirsten plus the cool and timeless guitar of Chris Peirce. Eleven songs from a world class variety of sources - James Taylor, John Martyn, Sting - blend together to make a very enjoyable recording that combines the familiar with the less well-known to great effect. Having been a duo since the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in 2000 the pair represent all that's good about small-scale, song-based jazz. Stand out track: an English take on Horace Silver's 'Senor Blues'.
