"Tempus Saltandi" is the fourth recording prouduced by Micha from Wolgemut and features music from Arbeau’s Orchesography. Published in 1589, this book is one off the best sources for information about the dances of the period. The songs were chosen, arranged and performed by Micha (Michael H. Gartner) who used a wide variety of bagpipes, shawms and percussion as well as quiet instruments such as fiddles and flutes and a unique appearance by the krumhorn for this recording.
Micha is also the artistic director for the international minstrels troop, known as...
Wolgemut (vol-ga-moot): an ancient germanic word which simply means “to be in a good mood”. It is also the name of a very unique musical minstrel's troupe which believes that the goal of every performance is to leave the audience in a good mood!
The Wolgemut sound is unique and is best described as "Historic World Music" Wolgemut takes historical and traditional melodies and adds a generous amount of new world verve. The end result is pure Renaissance Rock!
