ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Women In World Jazz was in founded by Tal Shalom-Kobi in 2015 in Boston, MA. The group’s mission is to provide an opportunity for audiences of all ages to learn about and to listen to the wealth of music written by women from around the world. We hope to bring to light those composers and lyricists who served as pioneers in times when the roles of women in the music arena was restricted. We also hope to inspire the listeners to want to learn more about these artists.

The first six tracks are a tribute to some of these artists hailing from different countries and representing a variety of musical styles. The last three tracks portray our own take on musical composition and performance.
