Album Notes
"At the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Woodenhead gets a standing ovation for teaching traditional jazz fans just how far imagination and electricity can push the form." ESQUIRE MAGAZINE

There are not many bands in the country who have dedicated four decades to their passion of performing and creating innovative music. Woodenhead, New Orleans' seminal instrumental rock band, has been together for over 44 years. Throughout the years, the band has stayed true to their aesthetic of excellent musicianship, superb original songwriting and authentic instrumental rock that is awe inspiring and distinctive. Just don't call them fusion band. Woodenhead is the incomparable legendary instrumental rock band from new Orleans.

Currently, and for most of Woodenhead's 44 years, band members include founder and guitarist Jimmy Robinson, pianist Fran Comiskey, bassist Paul Clement, and drummer Mark Whitaker. Each member contributes to the band's deep catalog of original songs and their renowned cohesive sound featuring tight, dextrous musicianship.

Woodehead has played the New Orleans Jazz and heritage festival over 20 times. They have toured with The Steve Morse Band and Allen Holdsworth. They opened for acts including The Dixie Dregs, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Billy Cobham, Spyro Gyra, Chick Corea's Elektrik Band, The John MsLaughlin Trio, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Tuck and Patty, Hugh Masekela, Robin Ford, Johnny Winter, John Mayall, and Jeff Lorber Fusion.

The band hopes you enjoy this new recording of their latest music, recorded live at Chickie Wah Wah in June of 2018 in New Orleans.
