ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Founded in 2003 The Wood Floors' debut CD, "The Bitter End" was a blistering powerhouse reminiscent of the early Replacements. The songs were quick and to the point, with each one connected by a sound byte of some sort. By years end the band transformed the pop/punk style of its early releases into the more experimental work of "Violence" and "Knowing Girls".

Knowing Girls kicks off with She Owned The Floor and doesn't let up until you reach the inside joke of Hey Captain, Its Christmas.

A strange release in the Floors' catalog

All songs were written and recorded in one night.

eggers on music

Good solid, off-beat, effort
Great dynamics in the songs, that really hasn't been present in much of the music made these days. An update on the classic W-Floors everything is nothing credo. These musicians drink alcohol. They record songs. Sometimes these songs are catchy. There you have it - it's really nothing. Yet you still have something. But what do you have? In some great musical sense you have all that matters on this disc.

Amazing musical creation, with a unusual blend of genres
You can tell this band is serious about their music - and still having fun while creating it. Considering the recording time - 2 days - it is amazing that such good music can be created with little preparation. Not a garageband but not the symphony either. Except for the strange Christmas song at the end, each song combines solid riffs with interesting lyrics. Check it out.
