Album Notes
No one reinvents jazz standards the way Worldwide Groove Corporation do. The success of their 2007 album Chillodesiac Lounge, vol. 1: Fever was largely due to the well loved songs that they reconstructed into their trademark downtempo chill style. And this song shows that they've still got the touch!

It's a new era in indie music distribution, and Nashville's electronic power duo are going large and taking charge. After 7 years of incubating their own tracks, Worldwide Groove Corporation are busting out of the starting gate this Summer with what could be a steady stream of new releases that will keep their fans happy for quite a long time. "While we've been busy doing music work for other clients, it may have seemed to some that we fell off the face of the Earth," says Kurt Goebel, one half of WGC, "but the truth is, we've had our own songs in the works this entire time. Now our goal is to put out one new release a month for at least a year."

The last full record WGC released was their Chillodesiac Lounge, vol. 1: Fever album in 2007. This project was based on the reinvention of well loved jazz standards into the downtempo electronica style. They garnered success with this record, being included in at least a dozen compilations around the world and nabbing the #1 rank on the Sirius XM Chill station, with their original instrumental track "Smoke & Mirrors," outranking well known acts such as Moby, Thievery Corp, Portishead, and Zero 7 for two months. Additionally, their work for other clients has brought them to new audiences, such as having their song "Freak the Beat" featured on a Grey's Anatomy ad in the Fall of 2013, and also composing and producing the main them and all of the back ground music for CMT's biopic series "Inside Fame" in 2014.

So what can fans expect from these new releases? "We are definitely branching into new directions emotionally, but we are also intentionally releasing songs that are a continuation of the first record for those who enjoyed that," says Ellen Tift, the other half of WGC. "As a songwriter, my life experiences influence my 'voice'. I like to write from the entire spectrum of emotion, and I hope our fans will come along for the journey." But through it all, their sound pallet still falls under the electronic umbrella. And as an extra option, WGC will include the instrumental track sans vocals with each single they release.

In addition to new music for listening, WGC are also providing an interactive element to their music in the form of supplying the individual instrumental "stems" for anyone to have the opportunity to remix their songs. Whether established or aspiring, DJs and hobby music producers can download the bass part, keyboard parts, and isolated vocals from the original songs released by Worldwide Groove Corporation to import into their own music programming software and chop it up, add their own beats, reharmonize it, or even rap over it. "We hope they send us what they've done! We'd love to hear it!" Tift enthusiastically offers. Additionally, when appropriate, a karaoke version of the track will be available for those who wish to sing the songs themselves.

"It's a privilege to even have an audience, and in the end, it's all about connecting with them. What better way to do that, than to allow them to interact with our songs?" says Tift. For those who are interested in knowing when new releases are available, they can join their mailing list [aka: their "favorite people" list] on their website at http://www.worldwidegroovecorp.com.
