ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
WZMG and the Coot write, perform and record a blend of blues, rock and boogie with a touch of jazz added. They struggle to keep their music pure in the face of the bizarre incidents that seem to follow in their wake. Their first rehearsals occurred in a secret Artificial Intelligence lab.

Some of the less fantastic incidents are chronicled in their songs like Freeway Cosmetological Myopia (about a woman who puts her makeup on while driving down the freeway), the Vapors (which describes a malady known in previous century but now making a comeback), and Hexagonal Bends (which explores the complex geometry of modern relationships).

The band members are as diverse as the music. They are:

Greg Watmore, Guitar, has been playing lead guitar for more than two decades, has played professionally on the road, and also has built guitars. He specializes in adding a blues flavor to each of our songs.

Ted Zahn, Vocals and Guitar, sings the lead vocals on most of the songs. He plays lead and rhythm guitar and writes many of the band's songs. On Casa del Sol he plays keyboards. He also co-produced the album.

Rick Meadows, Vocals and Bass, sings lead vocals on Born Under A Bad Sign. He wrote W.C. Meadows, and is the father of drummer Damion Meadows.

Damion Meadows, Drums and Vocals, sings lead vocals on Good Morning Little Schoolgirl. The youngest member of the band, he is the son of bassist Rick Meadows.

Vance Gloster, Keyboards and Vocals, plays Hammond organ, piano, electric piano, and Chapman Stick and sings lead vocals on Revolution. Vance also wrote several of the songs on the album and co-produced the album.

Jim Coots, Guitar. After spending years immersed in the blues, Jim Coots plays guitar and works to keep our blues pure.

A great mix of Blues and Rock with a touch of Jazz might describe many groups yet there is also a unique, rich sound here that envelops life as we know it with humor, sincerity and pure entertainment.
