ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
XMelt is the brainchild of Tonya Breaux and Jen Neitzel. The band was originally called Melt, but there were too many bands with that name already, so after much consideration the band changed their name to XMELT.
Tonya has spent much of her life song writing. Jen, on the other hand, was brand new. The two began song writing together – completely inciting each other, constantly carousing with their creativity and pushing each other to try new, impassioned, outrageous ideas. Brooke and Rachel are the newest members of the band. Brooke is getting down on the bass guitar and Rachel is breaking it down on the drums. The newest members make the band rock on a whole new level. Currently, Tonya and Jen write all of the original songs the band records and performs, Brooke and Rachel are very involved with the arrangement of the new songs. In addition to making some seriously loud, melodic noise, their band practices involve copious amounts of kombucha and potato chips, which the ladies refer to as “chipspiration”. The band’s music has been referred to as haunting soulful punk rock. As the political environment is changing in the US, their music will continue to express their thoughts and opinions on the directions the society should try to reach. They want their voices to be heard in honor of women and minorities who sometimes feel like they don’t have a voice. They also write about less serious issues, like partying west coast style!
