Yaiva is Navajo and Hopi, originally from Pinon, AZ and his father is from Hotevilla, AZ on 3rd Mesa of the Hopi reservation. However Yaiva grew up in and graduated high school from Shiprock, NM. Yaiva is of the Arrowhead clan and is born for the Eagle clan. Yaiva is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a B.S. in Applied Indigenous Studies and a minor in Economic Development.

From 2004 to 2012 Yaiva served as the director of Peace and Balance, a youth outreach and healthy living program of the Native Movement, non-profit organization. P&B focuses on violence prevention and actively does the "Education and Healing Through Music Tours" having performed at many venues nationally. Yaiva has released his past 3 cd’s thru this P&B program, where all proceeds go to supporting and building capacity of the program.

Aside from the CD's composed for the youth organization, Yaiva has 9 full album releases to his credit including co-producing credits on several of the albums he has released with other artists through his independent label including over 30 national collaborations. Yaiva has spoke at over 600 schools since 2004 and 2012 to an estimated 50 thousand students. In 2016, he has been being recognized for his work in Behavioral Health Care in being award the prestigious IASIS Chairman's Award, a National Award that was presented to him in Nashville, TN. and the EMPOWERED Teen AA Hope Award in Arizona also in 2016.

The album cover is of Mount Blanca near Alamosa Colorado. This is one of the sacred mountains for the Navajo / Dine' People. This mountain and the eastern direction it represents is often times seen as the direction of "beginnings, focus, vision and long term decision making" and the start of the our circadian rhythm used to achieve success in all our endeavors as Native Peoples and is the key element in the creation of our four new projects. Vision, is the first. Soon after, we will be releasing The Eclipse Project, a collaboration project with Orion and two mix-tapes with DJ Kiss and DJ Jonnie Miles.
