Album Notes
These are the eight prayers to the spiritual master written by Srila Vishvanatha Chakravarti Thakura, a great saint who lived on this earth between 1638 and 1708. He was a very exalted personality revered by Gaudiya Vaishnavas (devotees) for his deep and lucid commentaries on the Vedic literatures like the Srimad Bhagavatam.
It is amazing how many of these exalted personalities were also such skilled musicians and poets as well. The 26 qualities of the pure devotees resided in them, no doubt, being poetic and expert (qualities 24 and 26 respectively) no less.

This rendition which we have humbly attempted for the pleasure of our beloved spiritual masters, both Diksha and Siksha, has a typical South Indian style of instrumentation to the musical arrangements, with harmonic introludes where two wind instruments play together harmonic melodies with each other.

If one visits Yamuna Jivana's audio page on Gaura Records, the English translations are presented in the Lyrics section to the song.

We pray for the blessings of all the devotees, that we may please the spiritual master by our meager efforts in devotional service, for the spiritual master can give love of godhead Sri Krishna to a sincere aspirant, and we are simply running behind him, begging for that mercy.
