ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Brothers and guitarists Paul and Jason Ivey formed the Yankee Slickers in 2005 and, after several incarnations, have found their sound. The band hails from Jacksonville, FL, and is no stranger to a musical tradition that is characteristic to the area: soulful and spirited guitar playing. Dueling solos and interweaving lines that are ambitious and aggressive provide the core of the sound that is sometimes Southern boogie, often funky and bluesy, occasionally bombastic power rock, yet always musical and honest. Jason’s melodic vocal delivery, coupled with Paul’s instinctive and tasteful harmonies, make for a smooth sound over a dynamic rhythm section that reunites power and groove, reminiscent of the great rock music of the early 70s. The band is flipping the jamband scene on its’ head, emphasizing the song form but injecting a feeling of spontaneity and excitement that is becoming rare in pop music. A trailer full of classic, pro gear have the band ready for any stage, anywhere.

THIS IS THE ALBUM I`VE BEEN WAITING FOR
Yankee slickers,a band formed in 2005 in the heartland of southern rock Jacksonville FLA with the likes of "SKYNYRD"BLACKFOOT"MOLLY HATCHET" & .38 SPECIAL" as your pre-decessors you are going to have to be pretty hot as a band to compete, but compete they do & they hold their own with the big guns.Just listen to any of the tracks on this disc & you will be instantly pleased you bought it with the soulful & sometimes spiritual guitar playing of Brothers Paul & Jason Ivey.
For fans of southern rock, country, jam bands or just fans of good old fashioned rock`n`roll(and i`m not saying their sound is dated its as up to date as tomorrows milk & equally fresh & tasty)go out & buy this album.
