Album Notes
With their self-titled debut album, Yesterday's News has developed a set of songs that, on every level, is equal to any original music around.

Yesterday's News is Dave Chrismer (bass), Jamie Green (guitar), Mike Koehler (drums/lead vocal), and Eddie Lehwald (piano/organ). Though the members of the band are barely 20 years old, there is a certain maturity in their musicianship. Clearly, they are a capable, cohesive band.

YESTERDAY'S NEWS is a straight-forward rock album. The album borrows qualities from many styles of music within the rock genre, but never strays too far from its center. Elements of hard rock ("Happy Ending" "Better off Dead"), southern rock ("Graffiti on the Wall"), and reggae ("Four Right Turns") exist. "Scene From a Movie," "Dead, Dying, and Deceased" and "The Lion's Den" are all riff-catchy-chorus numbers that help give the album a mainstream appeal. "Two More Weeks" is a showcase for Koehler and Lehwald, while Chrismer gets his moment with "You're Not for Me."

At first listen, YESTERDAY'S NEWS features great melodies and vocals, solid rhythm, and terrific musicianship. However upon more listening, the lyrics begin to gain importance. Songwriter Green crafts an album that makes sense within their style of music. The theme is of a loss. The loss is of something pure, something once well-respected, but has now succumbed to certain surroundings.

If you are a fan of older rock and haven't come across a band that you can latch onto, Yesterday's News is the band and this is the album for you.

Good indeed...
Yesterday's News is from these parts and they have a self-titled album out that is just straight up rock and roll. Not particularily heavy handed, but it gets the job done. Jamie Green plays guitar and writes the songs. Eddie Lehwald plays the keys and they sound sweet! Mike Koehler is on the drums with Dave Chrismer on the bass and they all sing. "Dead, Dying and Deceased" is a great track, but "Graffiti on the Wall" really kicks. They have massive potential. They flow and the guitar really mixes well with the swelling rhythm section. Good indeed...

Wow, this album is a bold statement of traditional Rock music
This album is a statement that Rock Music is still alive and well in the new Millennia. This band of young musicians, has crafted a compilation of music from the heart. They have brought their knowledge of the fundamental elements of Rock into the studio, for a project that exudes soulful, fun and phenomenal Rock Music. From the talented guitar playing, thumping bass lines, tight drumming and sexy keys, one can obviously see that these young men are very talented and are on their way to stardom. Four Right Turns is a prime example, that these men have direction and know what goes into writing great Rock songs!
Buy this CD, you will not be disappointed.
