ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ylann Kalim is a composer and singer-songwriter of algerian roots grew up in the foothills of the Atlas mountains where he bathed in both the folklore and oriental sounds of the various musical currents of the arab world.

In France, he has widened his musical experience and multiplied collaborations, his inspiration having been further enriched with western influences.

Ylann Kalim's work swings between the mediterranean and anglo-saxon worlds, between Raï and Pop, Jazz and the love song.

This distinctive voice is moving, ambiguous, fragile and sensuous, rebel and androgynous. It is carried by passionate musicians; instrumentalists from mixed cultures and backgrounds.

Ylann Kalim's voice can now be heard on his new album where he works with the GettabanG musicians.
