ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"It was an early Sunday morning, the rays of light magnified through the window onto a silver laptop. I opened it to check my daily emails when my curiosity finally reached its peak. A small thumbnail of an orange guitar at the bottom of the screen which had been calling my attention for some time had finally reached its moment of truth. *Click* The guitar starts jumping and a musical canvas opens to my view. At that time... All I had was something called "Musical Typing" through the computer keyboard. From that moment, from those first notes composed, those first vocals recorded through the built in mic, that first demo completed... That was the true beginning of Uplift... The beginning of Ylecas."

Ylecas are a duo from outer space, they came to earth to learn and have fun through various creative outlets. Of these outlets music is one of the most enjoyable as everything in the universe is made up of an infinite amount of varying vibrational frequencies. When we play music and sing, we are expressing our own individual vibrational frequency and therefore are revealing our true selves.

Uplift was a four year international project. Some of the first melodies were written in California but most of the original demos were written and recorded in South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Vojvodina before finally being professionally recorded and mixed in a studio near Novi Sad.

"We knew we came to Earth for a reason, we knew we would choose parents who would support us for that reason. Both of us grew up in artistic families and each of our fathers played guitar when we were growing up. Incidentally we were also both introduced to piano when we were about three years old. We had the initial foundation we needed to be able to come out and perform in front of an audience and express ourselves (even if sometimes it was just for our imaginary friends)."

The inspiration for many of the songs came from an early connection to classic Scifi-Oriented Euro and Italodance. Groups like Eiffel 65, Aqua, Daft Punk and The Shamen are some of their biggest influences. Regardless, Uplift brings a breath of fresh air to a genre that hasn't been actively heard outside of radio re-runs and nostalgia seeking Youtuber's in over a decade.

"Both the melodies and the lyrics emulate that feeling of childlike curiosity that we all have when we come to Earth. That's the way we feel about it."

"And here and now we present to you.... Uplift"

Atmospheric Eurodance
As far as Eurodance music is concerned, this album is totally imaginative, and refreshing. It has a wonderfully crafted combination of driven synthesized beats wrapped in interesting and compelling melodies. Each song is very different from the next, sending the listener on a magical soundscape. The lyrics cover everything from the mundane (in "Organize) to the Futuristic (in "8D Spaceship). All in all a fun, "feel good album" that makes you want to dance, dance, dance!
