Album Notes
Yogacharya J. Oliver Black was a disciple and contemporary of Paramahansa Yoganana, the founder of Self-Realization Fellowship of Los Angeles, California. Until his passing in 1989, Mr Black served as an SRF minister and Kriya Yoga initiator, and many of us came to learn about yoga at his Sunday SRF services at the Detroit Institute of Arts. In the late 60s and early 70s many of his instructional meditations and service readings were recorded. We are happy to present Volume 2 of these recordings, excerpts from Yogacharya's Sunday meditations.

Yogacharya is a title of respect which was given to Mr. Black by Yogananda. It means “teacher of yoga.” We considered it a blessing to learn meditation from Yogacharya as he was taught by his Master, and individual daily practice is always emphasized. The SRF lessons, a home-study course written by Yogananda, give comprehensive instruction in meditation and Raja Yoga, and Yogacharya's Sunday morning talks gave us inspiration to keep going along the path prescribed by the SRF masters.
