ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Ms. Kothari is both a sensitive and strong pianist...her performance of Lyapunov's 'Lesghinka' is almost note-perfect and effective." - American Record Guide

Pianist Yoko Sata Kothari performs classical dance music from France and Russia. There are 3 different styles featured on this CD: Traditional, Ballet, and Folk, composed by Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Stravinsky, and Lyapunov. It is certainly unusual to offer a CD with such a concept. The mission of this recording will be successful if the listener is able to enjoy each of the three styles of music for the dance...regardless of their differences!
