Album Notes
1 Million Women is a movement of strong, inspirational women and girls acting on climate change through the way they live. This song was created to support this movement and to empower greater awareness of the movement internationally. This song was a hit throughout parts of the world in the early 80's and music producer Ken Francis and his young collaborator Rebecca O'Brien [aka the artist 'Darby'] reimagined it to be a forward-looking and positive anthem to move people of all nations and ways of life in a deep and inspiring way. On an magical day in October 2015, renowned Australian singers, Wendy Matthews, Melinda Schneider, Deni Hines and Ursula Yovich sang together with a choir of young women from the Australian Institute of Music to create this earthy, soulful and authentic call to all humans to consider the often overlooked essential power we all possess - our hope, our say, our "VOICE".
