ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Zain Bhikha’s 2018 album release, the much anticipated, 'Cotton Candy Sky’ is sure to delight listeners of all ages. With an array of 12 brand new songs, ‘Cotton Candy Sky’ is still true to Zain Bhikha’s unique sound with inspiring reminders of the power of God. Though the album has something for everyone, it is sure to appeal to young children and parents with tracks that playfully incorporate nature and colour as a means of connecting with our Creator. Other songs soulfully capture acts of worship and more so, those heartfelt moments that define the great human spirit celebrating the interconnectedness of our lives to those around us.

Whilst the inspiring, fun-filled songs such as 'Cotton Candy Sky’, 'If I Had a Boat’, ‘The Monkey, The Cow and the Wolf' and “Everything Belongs to Allah” will certainly appeal to young children, they also have a deeper meaning based on or inspired by Quran and Hadeeth. There are also more traditional songs which are sure to become Zain Bhikha classics, such as “King of Madinah” which is in praise of the Beloved Prophet (PBUH), “The Stillness of the Mosque” which documents our daily spiritual conversation with Allah during the gift of Salaah and “See You Soon”, a heartbreaking dedication to Zain’s niece Humayra Bodhania, who passed away recently after a long battle with Pulmonary Hypertension. The album also includes a very contemporary, upbeat track called “Get Up Again” which inspires courage when faced with immense challenges.

True to Zain's tradition, this album also features the talents of other amazing artists such as Khalil Ismail (USA), Khalid Belrhouzi (France), Alkebulaun (USA) and introducing the talents of young South African upcoming artist, Taariq Uwais Malinga
