Album Notes
Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine describes Zane Forshee as “one of his generations finest guitarists.” He first caught national attention when he took the first prize in the National Guitar Workshop International Solo Guitar Competition. Since that time concert engagements have taken him from North America to Asia, and his live performances have been praised for possessing “a beautiful ever-flow that held the audience captivated” Weekly Retriever. His debut recording Initial has been praised for its “Superb musical and technical skill” Recent performances include: New York, Chicago, Tai Pei, Philadelphia, Montreal, Washington D.C., Tainan, and Saint Louis among others.

Mr. Forshee has also been awarded the first prize in the Baltimore Music Club String Competition, the top prize in the Montpelier Artist Recital Competition, and has been awarded the Buder Performance Scholarship, as well as a Peabody Conservatory Career Development Grant. Most recently, Mr. Forshee has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Spain in support of his new recording project of contemporary Spanish works for solo guitar.

Mr. Forshee has performed and benefited from the guidance of many of the world’s greatest guitarists including Eliot Fisk, Benjamin Verdery, David Leisner, Sergio and Odair Assad, David Russell, Fabio Zannon, Carlos Barbosa Lima, Manuel Barrueco, and Pepe Romero among others. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University under the tutelage of Julian Gray and holds a Master of Music Degree and Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory as well. Presently, Mr. Forshee is on the faculty of the University of Maryland Baltimore County, the Peabody Conservatory, the Peabody Preparatory, and the Performing Arts Institute Summer Music Festival in Pennsylvania.
