ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"One Little Partridge" is a new take on an annoying carol.

There is a music video with cookies:
https://youtu.be/ayvjdC_HGCw
Lots and lots of cookies!
We did eat all the cookies.

The lyrics are traditionalish. In addition to the some variation to fit the tune, the guiding principle was "No gifting of people". So I researched older versions of the carol to find substitutes.

ONE LITTLE PARTRIDGE

On the first day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me,
one little partridge in a pear tree.

On the second day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me,
two turtle doves
one little partridge in a pear tree.

On the third day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me,
three french hens
two turtle doves
one little partridge in a pear tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me,
four calling birds
three french hens
two turtle doves
one little partridge in a pear tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me,
five gold rings
four calling birds
three french hens
two turtle doves
one little partridge in a pear tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me,
six geese a-laying
five gold rings
four calling birds
three french hens
two turtle doves
one little partridge in a pear tree.

And my love gave me seven swans
and eight hares a-running
and nine cocks a-crowing
and ten ships a-sailing
and eleven bells a-ringing

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love gave to me
twelve drums a-drumming
eleven bells
ten ships
nine cocks
eight hares
seven swans
six geese
five gold rings
four calling birds
three french hens
two turtle doves
one little partridge in a pear tree.

One little partridge in a pear tree.
